The Sheppey Miniature Engineering and Model Society was formed in 1978.  It’s aim was to encourage and promote the hobby of miniature engineering and model making in all its forms.  The Society has its  home at Bartons Point Coastal Park, Sheerness where we operate a 5″ and 3 ½” dual gauge raised railway and a large model boating lake.

Our aims are still the same today and we encourage all new members, including the younger generation, to take an active part in our activities.

For visitors we operate the railway every Sunday afternoon from Easter untill the end of October, Bank Holidays and during events ; [ see events page] normal running times are between 12-30 and 4 pm. or as advertized. we reserve the right to operate as weather permits.

However we are not all about a miniature railway, we have members with wide interests in the modelling hobby, Boats, road vehicles, radio controlled vehicles etc.

The club has adopted a new up to date constitution which came into force on the 10th of April 2018 This constitution can be accessed and down loaded by members from the members page, Log in with your password on the rear of your membership card. you may also access the code of conduct and diversity on the members page.

We sometimes take photographs to help promote the society on our web site/ facebook pages and in advertising literature. If you appear in any of these photographs and do not wish your image to be used in this way please contact us and we will remove it.
